Tip 1. Vocabulary flashcards
This phrase does not oblige you to cut out the cards, paste them all over the house, carry them with you everywhere (but if this is easier for you, please). In the age of mobile apps, there are a number of very convenient ways to replace flashcards. I recommend that you use the Anki app.
Tip 2. Write in vocabulary cards and learn ALL new words that you come across during the day
Whichever method you use to learn a language, do not progress through the program until you have learned all of the vocabulary from the previous lesson. If you do this, you will feel progress. You will not - and it will seem to you that you are marking time, because 70% of the language learning consists of memorizing new words and expressions.
Tip 3. Write an essay or diary
After each lesson and mastering a new vocabulary, write a short essay that will include this vocabulary to the maximum. If you are learning German, go through the topic "interior" and only know how to make simple sentences - make up! Let it be the banal “Das ist meine Wohnzimmer. Dieses Wohnzimmer ist weiß ”. The main thing is to write regularly. Be sure to save all your essays, this will give you the opportunity over time to compare what they were in the beginning and what they are now - and see the progress. Trust me, this is very motivating.
Tip 4. Every day practice
Dedicate the language every day without breaks and weekends, otherwise it will start to be forgotten. If you don't have time for a full class, open the Anki app and review the vocabulary cards. Words must be learned on a daily basis. Let it be 15–20 minutes a day, but they must be. It is the regularity of classes that will allow you to make progress in a short time.
Tip 5. Learn grammar
It is the knowledge of grammatical rules that will allow you to master the language in a short time - something that is not available to a child when he, being in a linguistic environment, tries to speak his native language. It is grammar that is the key that shortens your distance in the language path from many years to months. So don't ignore grammar. She can be a great help and friend to you on this fascinating journey.
Tip 6. Practice the language a lot (reading and serials)
It is reading a large amount of literature corresponding to your level, and watching movies and TV shows, that will allow you to develop a “sense of language” - something that any native speaker has at the level of intuition. In the presence of this “sensation”, any grammatically incorrect sentence will cut your ears, then you yourself, willy-nilly, will begin to speak correctly and with pleasure.
I wish you success in mastering languages and look forward to new posts - they will be as informative as possible!
