We regularly conduct market research, compile tables with prices and a bunch of parameters for dozens of data centers. I thought that it was not worth to waste good. Some people may need the data itself, while others may take the structure as a basis. The tables show data from 2016. But there were not many tables and they also made charts and a calculator of rates for server hosting , plus they added open data from the tax office on turnover of taxes and employees, data from RIPE (LIR status, subnets and total number of IPv4) and data from the ping-admin rating (Uptime and accident).
Who was in the sample
The table for September 2020 includes everyone who is in the TOP-20 in Yandex and Google, is present in the same place in advertising spaces, and who has prices on the site. If a company is not on the air or prices are on demand, then it is definitely not a competitor to anyone in the open market. Such a company may even have good orders, for example, government ones, but this is a separate feeder, you can even be a leader there, but this has nothing to do with competition in the market.
If some of the prices are closed, then the data is not displayed in this range. For example, if it is said that the tariff includes 350W or 100Mbps or 1 IP address and below there are no prices for additional capacity, channel expansion or additional IPv4.
Pricing problems
In terms of prices for colocation services, clients were most enraged by hidden payments. This was a huge traffic problem in the 2000s. Nobody knew in advance what kind of traffic he would have and everyone was afraid to βfly inβ. But at the same time, miracles do not happen. The cost of 100Mbit was then about 50,000 rubles. Now gigabit is already cheaper. Time goes by, and the pricing is still very muddy for many, and the websites of providers do not have an exhaustive price list. Tariffs are built in different ways, with certain parameters it is more profitable for the price from one supplier, with an increase in parameters, it is already more profitable from another.
