From satellites through open data to dead seals. It's sad, but, unfortunately, this is the topic of the KDPV.
I want to tell you about an interesting resource on open data and the experience of using it. Moreover, there is an actual, albeit sad, reason for its use.
Recently I read an article in a German magazine about this resource, and then news came from Kamchatka about an environmental disaster with an unknown origin ( https://www.kommersant.ru/doc/4519234 ). Media reports are contradictory. Incl. satellite images of the pollution site began to circulate on the Internet ( https://twitter.com/MitvolTV/status/1312313457862205443 ). What these pictures show is a field for the broadest interpretations.
I decided to look at this area and event from the perspective of European scientific satellites, using the possibilities of access to open data.

Judge for yourself. Maybe the locals will tell you what it is.

Open data reached space and the planet Earth. This is extremely interesting. It is especially pleasing that a whole infrastructure for access and analysis is being built around.
A well-thought-out, convenient tool for accessing interesting data from satellites for both specialists and a wide range of science, ecology, satellite lovers, it is also suitable for schoolchildren and students.
This resource can give more interesting results in the hands of specialized specialists: ecologists, geographers, meteorologists, prosecutors. It will be interesting to look at their analysis. Incl. in the context of a dark story with a Kamchatka beach. All health, clean air, rivers and seas!
