Good font: this is how good deeds are written

It is customary to say that such and such an event is celebrated on such and such a date. So, today is the day of support for people with cerebral palsy , but the word "celebrated" is hardly at all appropriate, because this is not a holiday with a cake and candles. The abbreviation is so significant that it has a separate date in the international calendar.

Last year, our old friends, represented by the Smetana agency, developed Dobroshrift , a font, each letter of which was written by a child with cerebral palsy and later digitized. The idea of replacing the logo was supported by many companies, which made it possible to turn the idea into a large-scale campaign, the purpose of which is to draw attention to the problem and raise funds for individual rehabilitation programs for children.

Our society is often non-inclusive and rejects people who are somehow different from the created image of the norm. This is at least unfair and wrong. A few facts about cerebral palsy:

  • Cerebral palsy is not a viral or infectious disease, it is not transmitted in any way.
  • Cerebral palsy has several forms and often you don't even have to guess that a person has this problem (remember the signature look and smile of Sylvester Stallone).
  • Some of the consequences of cerebral palsy can be minimized with intensive treatment (alas, expensive). But, nevertheless, cerebral palsy is incurable and in certain forms a person's life proceeds differently than that of everyone else.
  • People with cerebral palsy often retain all cognitive functions and emotional status - it is about them that we can safely say that this is a great spirit in a weak body.
  • Social communication is an important factor in the mental health of people with cerebral palsy. Do not be afraid to be friends, work, communicate on the Internet, be open-hearted.
  • Vaccinations, bad habits of parents, financial condition of the family, etc. are not to blame for the occurrence of cerebral palsy. - it occurs for objective medical reasons.
  • Families of patients with cerebral palsy who do not abandon their loved ones are huge heroes who need a special approach. Not pity, not stupid questions, but respect and, if possible, help, including communicative, social.
  • This can happen in any family, regardless of its well-being.
