I recently wrote about the closure of my agency UXhot. But before that happened, we had a chance to work on the usability of an interesting startup.
A customer delighted with the success of Patreon (a website where authors can share their work with a paid subscription or provide additional content for their followers) wanted to create a similar environment where popular Instagram influencers could be closer to their fans: publish unique content , and also communicate in a personal for a reward. However, after launching the mobile PWA app and attracting the first users, they faced weak engagement and conversion of paid actions.
The startup interface inherited Instagram: the same user profiles, photos. But most of them were erotic.
