Hello! We have started accepting applications for VTB More.Tech, an online hackathon for ambitious young IT professionals. From you - professional skills, the desire to participate in the web or mobile tracks of the competition and the ability to work in a team. From us - a prize fund of 900 thousand rubles and an opportunity to start a career in a system-forming Russian bank.
From 8 to 11 October, participants will fully immerse themselves in professional development. Meetings with experts, comments from mentors and senior colleagues, career coaching, a workshop on preparing presentations and other useful activities await them. Interesting? We dive under the cut for details!
The first track of the hackathon is for specialists in web development, the second one is for developers for iOS / Android. VTB More.Tech is a team competition, so it is better to gather like-minded colleagues under your banner in advance. However, we easily accept applications from individual participants, from which teams will be formed in the future.
The task of the web track is to create an anti-fraud system for web applications of banks. The optimal, in our opinion, the composition of the team for protection against fraudsters includes frontend and backend developers, DevOps engineer, systems analyst and product / project manager.
The participants of the mobile track will have to develop an application that will be able to recognize the model and make of the car, select the current offer for its sale and form a loan application. In addition to mobile and backend developers, the mobile team clearly does not need a designer or a computer vision specialist. And the product / project manager, where is it without him.
The transition to online allowed to increase the number of participants in the competition and expand its geography. The prize fund has also grown and now amounts to 450 thousand rubles for each track.
Hackathons are an important element of VTB's digital transformation strategy: the guys get the opportunity to prove themselves and get acquainted with our processes from the inside, and we get to hunt promising IT specialists. Some of the participants in last year's event are already building their careers in our team, the hackathon helped others to improve their skills and decide on a further direction of development.
After analyzing the experience of the largest hackathons, including the famous Tech Fest Munich, we decided to build the work on competitive projects according to the Dive-Create-Impact principle: 15% of the time - for studying the problem conditions and brainstorming, 60% - directly for implementation, 25% - to finalize and create a presentation. We believe this timing is conducive to making the most effective decisions. In addition, participants will be able to master this approach and use it in their future work.
Despite the "remote mode", all four days of the hackathon are full of activities, while the activities of each team will be supervised by our mentors. The program includes a series of meetups with VTB experts (DevOps methodology, agile technologies / Agile and other topics) and a master class on preparing presentations. You can familiarize yourself with the schedule, as well as read more about the tasks and conditions of participation on the official website of the hackathon . There you will also find an application form. Make up your mind soon: the last day for accepting applications is October 4.
