The GNOME developers have finally released a new version of the desktop environment. Half a year was not in vain - 28 thousand changes were made in version 3.38. 901 developers took part in improving the environment. You can evaluate and test GNOME 3.38 on Live builds based on openSUSE and Ubuntu .
The next version will be numbered 40.0 . This is done in order to remove the figure "3" which has lost its relevance. New features and functions of the current version, 3.38, can be found under the cut.
