Reset Locking from Teradici PCoIP Zero Client Devices

Tera2321 Zero Clients are hardware devices that allow access to Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) via PCoIP. The PCoIP protocol, developed by Teradici, was used until recently by VMWare as the main method of accessing virtual desktops (VMWare Horizon), and is now being superseded by the new Blast Extreme protocol.

Very often, when buying zero customers in the secondary market, it turns out that the device is locked with a password, which can only be reset by sending a special request code to teradici technical support, which in turn will request documents confirming the legitimacy of the device purchase.

Well, even if the previous owner connected directly to the View Connection Server and received an ip-address via DHCP, in this case, you can just write the address of your server and connect. But neither update nor change any settings will work. And if “View Connection Server + Imprivata OneSign” is selected in the settings, then the device will no longer do anything except the endless search for the Imprivata server. There may still be a device with a completely locked interface (not even an Options button) and a non-opening web interface.

PS: I could not download the latest firmware from the Teradici website, so I updated it to the one that was on the Dell website for the P25 device (ver 5.5.1). But after writing the article, I found a newer one on the LeadTek website (ver 17.05.1), this firmware is also perfectly installed on these devices.

I also noticed that the t310 does not turn off: you press the button and hold it - it goes out, let go, it turns on again. This behavior is regulated through the web interface, in the Power section.
