Hello! My name is Tim Chaptykov, I work at VK - I lead the development team for the messages section on the web. We are responsible for the messenger on vk.com, in the mobile version of the site and in VK Messenger (application for a computer).
Over the past five years, I have been doing a lot of technical interviews - most often with front-end developers. And in this article I want to talk about a simple principle that, in my opinion, will make such meetings much more comfortable for both employers and job seekers: an interview is not an exam, but negotiations.
Both parties are interested in the same thing during a technical interview. The employer really wants to find a suitable specialist, close the vacancy and strengthen the team. The candidate seeks to get a job in a dream company - closer to cool specialists, ambitious tasks and cookies. But in practice, it looks like their goals are exactly the opposite.
