Intel Tiger Lake processors - new generation with new logo

So it happened. After a period of anticipation, leaks and speculation, Intel has unveiled its 11th generation processors. Traditionally, the models for mobile and ultra-mobile devices were announced first (in previous generations they had U and Y indices). Now the approach to naming has changed, and not only that. Together with the processors, their new logo is also presented. This, by the way, is also an event: in the 50-year history of Intel, rebranding occurs only for the second time. Other products of the company will also receive new logos, but now we will focus on processors. Let's take a look at what's new in hot pursuit.

Only a year has passed since the start of the tenth generation of Intel processors, and now we have the next one. And not just with an index larger by one, but with a number of innovations and advantages. Let's list the main ones.

  • Intel SuperFin — ;
  • Intel Xe — 96 ;
  • 8k60 12b HDR , 4k60 HDR ;
  • — DDR4-3200 LPDDR4x-4266;
  • Thunderbolt 4 (4 x DP/USB) — 40 /c;
  • PCIe 4.0 — 4 ;
  • AI — Intel GNA 2.0 (Intel Gaussian & Neural Accelerator), , INT8 ;
  • Dolby Vision AV1;
  • Image Processing Unit (IPU6) — 4k30, 27 .

And here they are, brand new processors, in all their glory.

Let's take a closer look at the plate. The line is divided into two parts: models ending in 0 have a consumption range of 7-15 W; models with 5 at the end - 12-28 W (analogous to Y and U, respectively). What does this plug mean? The fact that device manufacturers, based on positioning, price category, cooling system capabilities, will be able to choose the optimal processor operating mode for themselves.

Please note that the graphics power options have increased: from the maximum - 96 executive elements through the intermediate 80 EU to the minimum 48 EU. The base frequency of the CPU also became higher - it corresponds to the upper mark of the TDP value.

All processors support low-voltage LPDDR4x memory, the maximum frequency for the top 5 models and all 0 models is 4266 MHz, for the other 5 models - 3733 MHz. The processors at the top of the table also work with DDR4-3200 memory.

We will definitely come back to the Intel Tiger Lake theme with new models and new details. And - the news doesn't end there.
