This is the first material in a series about development within a startup studio. In the first part of the CTO of Admitad Projects, Stanislav Sursky talks about the differences in the approach to development of different companies, about how everything happens in ADP and, of course, how the latest global events have influenced the developers.

I can compare how development works in different companies. He worked as a developer in online stores and as a freelancer, has a little experience in a web studio. He also worked closely as a lead developer in an antivirus vendor and was also a development manager there. Very often I had to work with people who do not understand anything in development and, most importantly, do not listen to what the developer and the technical team tell them. They have business tasks and requirements, they come: β€œGive me the functionality yesterday”. And such a development will easily fit into the annual plan ... And, most importantly, they do not hear feedback. Guys-developers tell them - there are no miracles, there is workflow: here is planning, decomposition, further analysis and the smallest part, 30%, is writing code. In response: β€œNo, no, it's easy, last week Vasya the neighbor did exactly the same garbage in 2 weeks, so come on, I believe in you,we will move mountains with you now! "

I never thought before that I would want so much live communication, ordinary human, albeit not so productive, when you clearly plan everything by the hour. But still, this period forced the use and combination of solutions. It has now been proven that with motivation, people can work together to effectively solve problems over long distances. This seems to me very important.
