A short note about working in Singapore.

All prices are in Singapore Dollars (SGD) (RUB 53.61 at the time of writing).

The article was written without taking into account the covid situation and in a rather dry format (facts), if there is interest, I will tell you in more detail.

A few terms:

SC is a citizen of Singapore.

PR is a permanent resident of Singapore or a residence permit. It is issued for 5 years and can be withdrawn for serious violations. Also, residence may not be extended if you stop working in the country.

MOM is the local ministry of labor, and it is they who allow and forbid you to work.

IPA - in principle approval letter. Single entry visa for work / study purposes.

The article will focus on any other legal statuses besides SC / PR, since they have much more rights and I will not consider them.

Types of work visas

• Work Permit is provided for some countries only, Russia / Ukraine / Belarus is not included in them.
• S-Pass (SP) is a visa for intermediate skilled workers with a minimum wage of 2400. This visa is worse than the EP, but if the employer offers it only decide for yourself.
• Employment pass (EP) is a visa for highly skilled workers. The minimum wage for it is 3900, to bring a family you need to earn at least 6000 already. The
  
  visa is tied to the employer and in case of his change, you will have to go through the quest again. Issued for 1/2/3 years (I heard about 5 years, but I can't confirm). It is usually extended without problems.
