The development team has been listening closely to the community's input and has been our priority since the announcement of Microsoft Flight Simulator in June 2019. The two most requested features by the community are TrackIR and VR support. Today we are pleased to announce that Microsoft Flight Simulator will support TrackIR as soon as it launches, with VR support coming later this year for the launch of the HP Reverb G2!
TrackIR
TrackIR is the first mass-market head tracking system to provide camera control with six full degrees of freedom (6DOF) for ultra-immersive simulation. TrackIR enables low-latency , mouse-free viewing in Microsoft Flight Simulator , delivering full 4K / HDR resolution and allowing easy interaction with a range of peripherals.
HP Reverb G2
Designed by HP in partnership with Microsoft and Valve, the Reverb G2 headset features a vivid, high-resolution display, superior tracking, and immersive audio to make the most of Microsoft Flight Simulator 's features such as incredible picture quality and full 3D soundtrack. The HP Reverb G2 headset will be available this fall, and the VR update will be free to all Microsoft Flight Simulator players .
In addition to Track IR and VR, we continue to work with partners such as Honeycomb Aeronautical, Logitech G, Thrustmaster, Virtual Fly and many more to further improve the user experience with Microsoft Flight. Simulator . We are pleased to announce support for Honeycomb's Bravo Throttle Quadrant and Thrustmaster's new TCA Sidestick and Quadrant Airbus editions. We are also committed to supporting existing peripherals and home cockpits with an updated version of SimConnect.
Xbox Game Studios and Asobo Studio are committed to the community and are committed to continually adding new features to Microsoft Flight Simulator like the ones we announced today. But after launch, we have even more plans! We will continue to update our development roadmap with continuous updates to the simulator, including themed DLC packs, free world updates, and more. Look forward to more news in the coming months.
Free world updates
Microsoft Flight Simulator heralds a new era of data-driven flight simulation. One of the amazing implications of this is that the information on which the world is built is constantly updated, and players get a simulator that will evolve over time. Through our partnership with Bing, players will be able to enjoy new, even better terrain and an ever-improving machine learning simulator that will grow over time.
We have a lot of plans for Microsoft Flight Simulator, but already on the first day, users will receive planes with high detail, a new checklist system, air traffic, real-time, dynamically changing weather, new aerodynamic modeling, and many other features that we talked about when we announced the launch date . - and all this in a beautifully created and rendered world. Whether you're a newbie in flight simulators or a pro pilot, Microsoft Flight Simulator calls you to the skies.
