Highway for processors - video from Intel factory

As a Friday post, here's a short video from Intel's plant in Hillsboro, Oregon. The video shows an automated material-handling system (AMHS) that moves through the factory the main production facility - silicon wafers, blanks for future Intel chips. Below the cut is a mesmerizing futuristic video, as well as figures and facts describing the delivery system.

The delivery line is a multi-level transport network with a length of more than 43 km, connecting the production buildings of the plant. The same lines operate at other factories of the company. A special container called FOUP (front-opening unified pod) with a capacity of 25 substrates is attached to the transport module - there are a total of 1700 of them at the plant.

The processor highway connects 9 factory buildings, including the main D1X and D1D, which add up to more than 12 American football fields. There are 16,000 flights every hour. Containers weighing 90 kg move at a speed of 11 km / h.

And now, in fact, the clip. Have a nice weekend!
