For 11 years now, Europas has been finding the most exciting startups in Europe (previously, Spotify, Transferwise, Soundcloud and Babylon Health won the award). The awards are presented in 20 categories, including emerging areas such as AgTech / FoodTech, SpaceTech and GovTech (agrarian / food, space and government). After examining the record number of applications, a tense stage of popular voting, heated debates between members of the jury and 13 workshops, the winners of The Europas Awards 2020 were finally announced.



Who was the best this year? 



Nomination "Best FoodTech Startup"



Applicants:



  1. ConstellR, Germany. They track the temperature of our planet to a fraction of a degree using a complex of satellites.
  2. Earth Rover, UK. AI-powered service for high-value crops.
  3.  iFarm, Finland / Russia. Construction of closed farms, including automated vertical farms.
  4. Planted, Switzerland. Processing of natural ingredients into plant-based meats, including chicken.


Winner: iFarm. The company with Russian roots is already successfully operating in 21 countries, offering technologies for more rational cultivation of 120 crops in shops, restaurants, warehouses and homes.



Nomination "Best GreenTech Startup"



Applicants:



  1. Cervest, UK. Created an AI-powered platform designed to educate companies, governments and manufacturers about what decisions they can make in the face of increasing climate variability.
  2. GreyParrot, UK. Developing waste identification software for monitoring, auditing and sorting waste on a large scale.
  3. Hawa Dawa, Germany. Convert air pollution data into real information to improve urban ecology.
  4. Solytic, Germany. Develops intelligent software solutions for the technical management of solar assets.


Winner: GreyParrot. The startup has gained popularity with recycling plants not only in the UK, but also in Italy and South Korea. They also recently won a tender from airlines to track waste sent to landfill. Going forward, the company has the opportunity to take on serving a huge market, despite all the problems associated with the pandemic.



Best Cyber ​​Startup



  1. Aloha Browser, Cyprus. Browser with free unlimited VPN for inexperienced users.
  2. Buguroo, Spain. Development of anti-fraud tools based on behavioral biometrics.
  3. Picus Security. A platform against cyber attacks and hacks.
  4. SwIDch, UK. Generates OTAC (One Time Authentication Code) on the user's personal device for every transaction without a network connection.


Winner: SwIDch. The startup has developed a dynamic virtual PAN (primary account number) technology. Indonesia recently signed two major contracts that will provide a guaranteed return on 100 million transactions.
