Recently, in another post about “how corporate editors took over Habr and do not let free authors breathe at all,” we were given a disadvantage that there are too many materials in our blog NOT about the company's services, its activities, and so on in the same spirit. Either we will write about labyrinths in games, or how to glue girls on Tinder. We listened to the opinion of the audience.
Earlier we talked about our ready-made images for virtual servers separately, there was no structure. In this article, we decided to collect all 11 images collected in our marketplace and tell a little about them to make it easier to understand. 1. Docker CE - Ubuntu 18.04
Let's start with the now classic blue whale with containers on its back. Docker provides virtualization at the operating system level. Software and its dependencies are bundled into standardized blocks that run in isolation from each other, but on the same operating system core.
And why is this all? The answer is simple - containers are more powerful than nested virtualization, but they allow you to deploy a runtime environment with the necessary system utilities and libraries just as quickly.

2. WordPress - Ubuntu 18.04 LTS
... just like WordPress. We are sure that many "site owners" work with this particular system, but for beginners, let us remind you: WordPress is a system for creating and managing websites on the Internet.
The most popular CMS in the world. Over 60 million people choose WordPress for their websites and blogs. By the way, this is probably why our article “ Best WordPress Plugins and Services in 2020 ” got so many views.
3. ZeroTier - Debian 10.2
ZeroTier is a distributed network hypervisor built on top of a cryptographically secure global peer-to-peer (P2P) network. It is an analogue of a corporate SDN switch for organizing virtual networks with the ability to connect almost any application or device.
- Supports all modern browsers, including mobile versions;
- There is no limit on the number of virtual networks and connected hosts;
- It is possible to add additional administrators.

4. OTRS - CentOS 7
Who doesn't use ticket systems these days? And you know that it is very convenient, even not in the field of development and programming. And if the system is also free + convenient, then we don't understand why you still don't have it.
OTRS is one of the most popular ticket systems used by large companies to support users. OTRS Community Edition is a free version under the GNU License. This version has rich functionality and covers almost all tasks of information support for clients:
- Supports all modern browsers, including mobile versions.
- High productivity and the ability to add an unlimited number of employees.
- Built-in system of differentiation of rights.
- The ability to distribute applications by queues and configure automatic responses.
- Response templates.
- The ability to connect a third-party service via API.

5.VEPP - CentOS 7
Let's just say that VEPP is a control panel for WordPress sites, which also knows how to regularly create backups, scan a site for viruses and monitor its availability.
The basic idea is that the user's server works without any panel components. The user grants root access to his server on the panel's website. The panel connects to the server via SSH and makes the necessary settings, as well as installs the necessary software. The panel allows you to deploy WordPress in a few clicks, bind a domain and install an SSL certificate.
6. LAMP - CentOS 7
Do you know what these 4 letters stand for? Okay, even if you don't know, we will give you a hint: Linux + Apache + MySQL + PHP. Yes, you read everything correctly, this template allows you to get a stable build of Linux + Apache + MySQL + PHP without any extra hassle.
7. Windows Server 2019 Core
So we got to Windows Server. And on it we have as many as 5 images. Let's start with a simple one - Windows Server Core 2019 or a compact "server" installation of Windows Server 2019.
Windows Server Core 2019 can host any server software: Web servers, mail servers, SMB or FTP file storage, database management systems. In this case, applications will receive more processor time and RAM than when they are deployed on a server of a similar configuration with Windows Server 2019. This is because the Core version lacks some parts of the desktop, such as support for sound, printers and scanners, services for biometrics and many other components of operating systems designed for home computers.

8. VPN L2TP - Windows Server 2019
Oh, this image is no longer needed, Telegram was unblocked, sorry. Okay, kidding.
VPN L2TP is a Windows Server 2019 template with RRAS and NPS roles preinstalled. Allows you to connect to the server via VPN immediately after installing the template. Completely changes the IP address of the connected user. Server management is also available via RDP, as in other standard WindowsServer templates.

9. SQL Express - Server Core
MS SQL EXPRESS is a free edition of Microsoft SQL Server. The maximum database size in this edition is limited to 10 gigabytes. The assembly includes MS SQL Server 2019 and SQL Server Management Studio 18.4 preconfigured for remote management with the ability to manage the database through a graphical interface.
10. MetaTrader 5 - Server Core
Let's move on to two of the most unusual images in our marketplace. The first is MT5, the popular Forex trading platform. The assembly includes the trading terminal itself and Windows Server Core.
Key benefits of the edition:
- The number of reboots is minimized to about zero;
- Lack of unnecessary processes;
- The terminal is automatically launched when the user logs on to the system;
- The terminal is automatically restarted in case of failures;
- Added special control commands.

11. Minecraft - Server Core
