Professional oral hygiene. Part I

image

Hello dear friends!

We all know how important it is to maintain oral hygiene and what negligence can lead to. But, alas, not everyone gives it due importance.

But after the installation of implants and in the presence of orthopedic structures, this is especially important!

I have said more than once that with proper prosthetics and high-quality oral care, with implants, over time, nothing happens. They both stood and continue to stand. But this or that inflammation that occurs in the area of your teeth can involve adjacent implants. It is very important to undergo preventive examinations, in other words, THAT, every six months. This is required to control and identify certain problems at the initial stages. It won't be difficult to fix them.

, ! , , «» .… .

Here is an example of a patient neglecting this rule:

A man had implants installed and replaced (with temporary crowns) in another clinic. After that, he disappeared for several years without completing his full treatment. He appeared only when he felt "discomfort".

In addition to the failure of old crowns and fillings, pathological abrasion of teeth, etc. - all these years hygiene suffered greatly.

Below, in a panoramic image of the teeth, we observe a critical loss of bone tissue around the implants in the upper jaw.

The orange dotted line - it was, the

red - it is.

How did the lack of banal oral hygiene have such a strong impact on the implantation area, you ask.

That's how:

This is how temporary (plastic) crowns look after they are removed. They just drown in shit bloom. (By the way - the surface of temporary crowns perfectly collects plaque, which is not the case in such quantities on permanent ones made of ceramics.)

But the patient, apparently, was not particularly worried about it. Even if the temporary crowns on the opposite side that fell out a couple of years ago did not bother him very much.

Are you wondering how much the patient "got" just because he did not observe elementary things and scored on further teeth restoration? So, about 500K. This is the amount of money thrown into the trash. Not to mention the fact that with repeated prosthetics and correcting the current situation, the price tag will be higher, if not two, then one and a half times for sure.

Therefore, I urge you - do not neglect preventive examinations at the dentist. Moreover, if you have certain orthopedic structures. This tryndets could be easily avoided if a man came to scheduled appointments, where the doctor would perform maintenance in the form of removing crowns, brushing them, and, no matter how funny it sounds, would teach again how to properly care for teeth. (By the way - permanent prosthetics does not diminish the need for preventive examinations)

A few words about the care of orthopedic structures. While a toothbrush and the ability to handle it are usually sufficient to maintain proper dental hygiene, in the case of crowns and bridges, a brush alone will not be enough. There is a wide variety of different brushes and threads, but you can't do without an irrigator. An irrigator is such a karcher for the oral cavity, which, under strong pressure, delivers a pulsating stream of water, which knocks out everything that gets clogged both between the teeth (if they are “native”, no bits are not painted), and in the field of orthopedic structures, such as crowns and bridges. The peculiarity of the latter lies in the fact that some free space remains between the body of the prosthesis and the gum - the "flushing part", created to facilitate hygienic care.In the area of the anterior teeth, "tangent" bridges are used, the body of which touches the gum or slightly lags behind it. There is also a saddle (ovoid) type of arrangement of the intermediate part. Although this option is the most aesthetic, it is not the best, as it contributes to food clogging, does not provide hygiene and can cause pressure sores on the gums.

This wonderful device looks like this:

It has many different attachments, you can count all the figs! By the way - this irreplaceable and wonderful piece will come in handy for the owners of braces. I declare with confidence as a person who wore them twice, and for two years. If this irrigator is stationary, then there is also a portable one - with it you will no longer get away from good hygiene on a business trip or on vacation.

There are a lot of irrigators on the market, I don't want to choose. Moreover, on the same aliexpress, you can order an original irrigator made at an official factory, but "after midnight", only with a different name, but several times cheaper than those that we sell.

In the next article I will tell you in more detail about the stages of professional oral hygiene and about its features associated with the installed implants and orthopedic structures.

Don't switch!

Best regards, Andrey Dashkov
