Parallels Mac Management 8.5 adds iPhone and iPad management

Parallels today announced Parallels Mac Management 8.5 , which includes free management of Apple iPad and iPhone in Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager.

Parallels Mac Management 8.5 adds support for the following configuration profiles:

  • Device password policies are password restrictions that help block Apple mobile devices.
  • Remote lock and wipe . This is useful when a device is stolen or lost and sensitive business data could be compromised. Remote locking and wiping can eliminate the risk of data leakage.
  • Network connectivity and WiFi policies to enable iOS users to easily connect to a secure corporate network.
  • VPN profiles . They make it easier for users to connect to your VPN and access corporate resources while working from home.
  • Device certificates are digital certificates used when establishing connections to a network service or WiFi hotspot on your network.

As Microsoft SCCM and Endpoint Configuration Manager continue to evolve, our users need the tools to properly integrate the management of all devices — Mac, iPad, iPhone and PC — securely and cost-effectively in one infrastructure ,” said Nikolai Dobrovolskiy, senior vice president of Parallels . “ Parallels Mac Management 8.5 blurs the boundaries of IT management by bringing iPhones, iPads and Macs to Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager locally. IT administrators can now easily enroll, manage and secure more devices than ever in a single infrastructure . ”

Parallels Mac Management 8.5 also adds the ability to uninstall applications. This capability improves device compliance management by making it easy to uninstall previously deployed applications from corporate Macs.
